This was our first trip to Costa Rica and it exceeded all of our expectations.  We have traveled several times to Hawaii and were not sure what to expect, but the beaches, weather and beautiful home were beyond amazing.  There were 3 couples and this home was absolutely perfect as it had 3 master suites.  The home was open and airy, had a pool and loungers and was just steps away from the ocean.   The sandy beach was perfect for morning walks down to Dominical and just as much fun in the evening when the tide was out.  We had fabulous dinners at restaurants close by and  a spa for massages and facials.  The husbands absolutely loved the fishing.  There was a local fishing guide that they went out with twice and had great success.  They also went fishing on their own and thoroughly enjoyed the local hospitality.  The caretakers for this home were amazing.  You could not have asked for kinder more attentive people.  Their home was located on the property and they were always accessible if we had any questions or needs.  We will definitely be back and will definitely stay in this property.

Three generations of our family came to spend a week together at Caballitos del Mar. It was fantastic. We ranged from grandparents and two families with children from two years up. We had a great time sampling all of the local adventures from zip lining to the national parks. The house was great with three suites for the three family units and the pool was a special hit with all. It's a great place to relax or to adventure out. We did all of the above. Dominical is a great place with excellent food and a lot to see. The staff did a great job of recommending and reserving activities for our whole family. We can't wait to do it all again.

Wow.... What else is there to say. If you want to surf some great to incredible swell, be near a traditional C.R. type town without the tourist traps that Tamarindo or Los Suenos offer, this is your spot. The home was all its' photos made it up to be, and more.
Nothing but great beaches that stretched for miles all to ourselves, and surfing like Dominical proper 150 yards from the pool. We loved the peace and quiet, and having a festive atmosphere and market to stroll around, but literally 3 minutes away in Dominical.

Beachfront Villa in Jungle Paradise

The home has two stories, with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and master bedroom on the first floor. The second floor has two more bedrooms, two full baths, and a loft area which can accommodate another guest.

Each bedroom is air-conditioned, and there are 7 fans throughout the home for additional ventilation. All windows are opening, and there are sliding glass doors in each bedroom and the living room. All windows and sliding doors have screens.

The pools are gorgeous, with blue tile basins and crystal clear water. They are the perfect way to cool off in the afternoon and to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset.

Eco-tourism is the only kind of tourism in Costa Rica, and the best excursions are on the South Pacific Coast. In less than an hour, you can be on horseback riding towards Nayuca Waterfalls, or on a boat on Rio Sierpe headed for the Osa Peninsula, or riding a zipline in nearby Hacienda Baru. A variety of excursion booking services are located in Dominical or at one of the excellent resorts in the area like Villas Rio Mar or Cuna de Angel. Rates are very reasonable, and we've never been disappointed by the quality or hospitality of the tours.

Caballitos del Mar is a unique property located on the beach south of Dominical in Puntarenas Province. Located in the "Zona Maritima", it is as close as you can be to the gorgeous Playa Dominical, with its broad sand beaches, monument rocks, and world-class surfing. The property has towering trees over 100' tall which are the homes for kinkajous, toucans, and monkeys. The one acre parcel is fully landscaped, but nature is the predominant theme, with natural foliage and wildlife at your doorstep.

Dominical is a small village on the South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, and is known for its consistently excellent surfing. The beach is broad and shallow, and allows swimming, surfing, and just cooling off. The lifestyle in the area is reminiscent of Kauai or Maui, with wonderful small restaurants with a variety of cuisines, surf shops with instruction, and renowned Spanish language school called AEC (Adventure Education Center).

The school is a 30 minute walk on the beach (low tide) or on the jungle paths. Quality restaurants are also easy walking or biking distances, or just a few minutes by car.
